Paparazzi caught Lindsay Lohan filming her next Ugly Betty episode and in it, she has super long tresses—the kind of stuff hair dreams are made of. Dania Ramirez Talk about saving the day: Heroes star Dania Ramirez found a fresh alternative to the classic dark eyeliner look by using a light purple shade. For a recent appearance, Ramirez rimmed all along the outside of her eyes with frosted lilac liner, adding a few extra layers on the inner part of the eye for an added boost. Anna Paquin’s subtle black liquid upswept liner is a great alternative to the heavily rimmed kohl eye look every other Hollywood star has been wearing. Paquin’s has retro undertones; she looks like she came straight off the Mad Men set. (That trendsetting show strikes again!) For best results, use a liquid liner pen like CoverGirl Line Exact in Black and start with a thin line that gets slightly thicker as you move out toward the brow. Victoria Beckham Much like hemlines, hairstyle trends have a pattern of highs and lows. Backstage at the Rodarte spring show, Aveda stylist Dennis Clendennen had his own take on the trend. He said the pattern starts with a woman wearing long locks, which are then lopped off into a bob. Then comes the graduated bob (as in a shaggy bob) and finally a short pixie cut—before she lets it grow out and starts the whole process all over again. Leighton Meester Gossip Girl’s Leighton Meester was a fixture in the front row of many a runway show last week, and every time she turned up, she looked gorgeous. I was especially fond of her look at the Phillip Lim show, where she wore a halo of gold liner around her eyes. If you take a closer look, you’ll see there’s black liner on top for definition, then a light gold powder shadow around the outside rims of her eyes, with a tad bit more on the lid itself, right up to her brows. Makeup artist Bobbi Brown once told me she loves dark eyeliner because it dramatically transforms your look with next to no effort. Nicole Richie’s recent look proves that point perfectly. The new mommy used a navy hue and just swooped on the liner in a classic cat-eye way (thin at the inside corner of eye, getting fatter as it works its way up and out past the outer corner). A little lip gloss and a dab of color at the cheeks and she was ready to go! It’s a super-simple look, great for those lazy makeup days or when you’re so tired and need a serious (face) lift fast. For years I’ve been begging my blue-eyed friend to skip the blue liner—it was a little too matchy-matchy for my taste. But now I’m reconsidering the blue-on-blue look (or blue on any eye color for that matter) thanks to this cool makeup Blake Lively recently sported. By lining the inside rims of her top and bottom lashes with a metallic navy liner, Lively has made her eyes look bigger—and bluer—in a hip new way. How can anyone keep up with Jennifer Lopez? After completing her first triathalon, the new mother of twins debuted not one but two fabulous looks at her husband’s birthday party! (She must have done the Superman presto-chango thing while no one was looking.) Her second look—the sexy smoky eye—was the real stunner: Jennifer lined her lids with a charcoal liner and then circled them with gunmetal shadow before applying extra shadow to the lid itself. In true Lopez form, she went for maximum drama by wearing silver shadow with a shiny silver-gray dress, but I could also see this makeup with a cozy gray sweater or flannel jacket.
