Ground is broken at Walt Disney World Resort for Disney's Animal Kingdom
Theme Park.
August 5, 1967
Disneyland's attraction Adventure Thru Inner Space opens in Tomorrowland.
Guests are transported through a microscope where they are shrunken down
and sent off to explore the inside of an atom.
August 6, 1928
Disney's very first Oswald the Lucky Rabbit short, "Poor Papa," is

Zorro first appears in an edition of the popular pulp magazine "All Story
Weekly." In the late 1950s, Disney will turn Zorro into a successful TV series.

The Haunted Mansion attraction opens in New Orleans Square at Disneyland. The
grand opening of the attraction is heralded by a promotional blitz that include
the "I Scream" Sundaes sold at Disneyland's Carnation Plaza.
